‘Dr Phil Judkins is a military historian specialising in the First and Second World Wars. He holds a PhD from the Royal Military College of Science in the history of radar, has held Fellowships at Cranfield, Buckingham and currently Leeds Universities, and next year will take up a Fellowship at Cambridge. He has a particular interest in the experience of women in wartime, with one of his students gaining her Doctorate on little-known area of the female codebreakers of World Wars 1 and 2 and will explore with us the vast variety of roles, some expected and some not, in which women of many nations distinguished themselves in war’.
