From prehistoric times people have settled in the Nidd Valley. With its prominent position on a crag the town became strategically important in early times and its hinterland and position on the river meant it developed as a major market centre. Throughout time people have been attracted here for numerous reasons and Pete will tell us who they were and why they came.
